Visual artist with an expressionist language intimately tied to music.

Considered by writer Carlos Montemayor as one of the three great artists from Guanajuato, alongside Diego Rivera and José Chávez Morado. A representative of the generation of Mexican artists born in the 1950s, his work has received numerous national and international awards. Described by art critics as a prolific and multifaceted artist, Jazzamoart has presented his work in over 500 exhibitions across Mexico, the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Western Europe, and countries in Asia such as China, South Korea, and Japan. His visual improvisations and stage designs have accompanied leading jazz performers on stage. As an illustrator and drummer, he has collaborated on books, LPs, and CDs. He has been a member of Mexico’s National System of Art Creators on three occasions.
